I'm a fine arts major, and i'm going to school to be an art therapist. I've never really worked with digital imaging before. All of my other art interests have been more physically tangible. I like painting, drawing, sculpting, and anything conceptual. I'm usually inspired by music, poetry, or anything emotionally powerful i find in the world. My favorite artists are Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo, and Kara Walker.
In my art I employ text to create a stronger relationship between it and the viewer. I am a mixed media artist with a focus on text, texture, paint, and space. I use these elements to confront my audience with their doubts, beliefs, and insecurities. They are displayed unconventionally to add a level of discomfort. Color and texture help me convey the mood of each individual piece and add to its understanding. This forged connection is the most important aspect of my work.
I'm a senior fine arts major at TCNJ. I have studied and and enjoy painting (acrylics, oils, and watercolors), drawing/sketching (charcoals), sculpture (usually conceptual - not classical), welding, wood-burning, and photography (digital, film, and large-format). Lately I have also been experimenting with graffiti art.
